Während die meisten Menschen nun die Wärme und Helligkeit des Sommers vermissen, freuen sich
andere über den Jahreszeitenwechsel. Für Einbrecher beginnt die Hochsaison. Sie haben oft leichtes Spiel, denn in der nachmittäglichen Dämmerung fallen sie Nachbarn oder Fußgängern kaum auf.
Außerdem fällt es den Eindringlingen leichter herauszufinden, ob die Bewohner anwesend sind. Durch die früh einsetzende Dunkelheit schalten die Menschen in der Regel schon nachmittags die Lichter
in ihren Wohnungen ein. So ist es ein Kinderspiel zu erkennen, ob jemand zu Hause ist. Daraus folgt, dass die meisten Einbrüche nachmittags oder abends stattfinden. Zwischen 16 und 22 Uhr
sind die Einbrecher am aktivsten, in diesem Zeitraum finden über die Hälfte aller Einbruchsdelikte statt.
Dabei ist das Vorgehen oft das gleiche: Einbrecher beobachten, ob Lichter eingeschaltet
werden, ist dies nicht der Fall stellen sie durch Klingeln fest, ob sie tatsächlich freie Bahn haben. Wenn Fenster und Türen dann keinen mechanischen Einbruchschutz haben, hält sie meist nichts
mehr ab.
Wohnungseinbrüche sind ein aktuelles Problem, das in den letzten Jahren immer gravierender
geworden ist. Laut der VdS, einem Unternehmen des Gesamtverbandes der Deutschen Versicherungswirtschaft e.V., entstanden in den vergangenen Jahren stets steigende Schäden durch Einbrüche. Im
letzten Jahr betrug die gesamte Schadensumme fast 500 Hundert Millionen Euro, das entspricht einem besorgniserregenden Anstieg von etwa zehn Prozent gegenüber dem
Vorjahr.
Die Folgen von Einbrüchen sind nicht nur der materielle Verlust, der eventuell von einer Versicherung gemildert wird, auch psychisch entstehen oft schwierige Situationen. Einige Betroffene kämpfen nach einem Einbruch noch jahrelang mit Angstzuständen und fühlen sich nicht mehr sicher in ihrem Zuhause.
Umso wichtiger ist es daher, präventiv zu handeln. Lampen mit Zeitschaltuhren sind dabei nur eine
der vielfältigen Möglichkeiten, um den ungewollten Besucher abzuschrecken.
